Hey,
Im trying to use a truetime toolbox for Matlab, and that requiered c++ compiler. I have installed sdk and visual basic c++ compiler, but when I want to run the toolbox I get this error: Compilation using MEX failed! (Run 'mex -setup' to configure your C++ compiler)
Somebody here maybe knows how to solve tihs problem?
Thanks
Here is what I have done in Matlab prompt:
mex -setup
Welcome to mex -setup. This utility will help you set up a default compiler. For a list of supported compilers, see http://www.mathworks.com/support/compilers/R2013b/win64.html
Please choose your compiler for building MEX-files:
Would you like mex to locate installed compilers [y]/n? y
Select a compiler:
[1] Microsoft Software Development Kit (SDK) 7.1 in C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0
[2] Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 in C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0
[0] None
Compiler: 2
Please verify your choices:
Compiler: Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Location: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0
Are these correct [y]/n? y

HI,
the error you get "Compilation using MEX failed!" seems like a self thrown error. Take a look at the actual mex call which should do the compilation and maye pass down -v to get a verbose compile output. What is the output? What is the actual error message from the compiler?

After I started doing the debugging I discovered that I did save the toolbox in the wrong path. I relocated the toolbox file to the right place and it did work.
Thank you Friedrich for your quick response and the help. Debugging solved the problem :)
