Newbie for deploying matlab to java

Hi, I want to deploy my matlab work as a jar file (API), so that it can be integrated into a webpage by another user. I am new to deployment and had some questions:

1. If I deploy using 2013a, what else do I need to send him along with the jar file so that everything runs without a glitch. (Things like MCR etc.? please explain in excruciating detail :) about anything like version mismatches etc. that i need to take care of ) Also when running on his computer will there have to be any requirement setting of paths that I can automate by writing a shell script?

2.If I deploy on linux then will he only be able to run it in linux? i.e. do i need to know what the target platform is before I deploy?
