How can I install MATLAB without activation key?

Hi, I am trying to install MATLAB 2014a (a disc provided form my university) on a desktop connected with the university. My supervisor told me that I only need to provide him my IP address of my computer and then he can add it to the licence. However, I found that I must provide an activation key and then I can install MATLAB in the computer. I am wondering is that any ways to install it without activation key, and what is the proper way to install it by providing IP address of my computer. Thanks, Leo
