I am new to Image Processing. I am trying to implement a Raspberry Pi NoIR Camera V2 8MP to a drone for multispectral imaging (crop monitoring more specifically). I was wondering if I could extract the Red and NIR channels from images taken with this camera or maybe generate a hypercube from them.

To my QD-reading on this type of camera it is a normal RGB-camera but without IR-blocking filter. This would make it impossible/difficult to separate the red and IR information directly. But (to my equally QD-thinking) it should be "reasonably straightforward" to build a filter-wheel in front of your camera with one empty slot/clean glass and and one long-pass filter, something like: infrared-longpass (I certainly have no affililation to either manufacturer, nor Edmund Optics, other brands and vendors surely available). That way you could take one B-G-(R+IR) image through the clean filter and one IR image through the long-pass filter.

Thank you so much. I think it would be cheaper if I use a red filter and process the images through this website https://infragram.org/ .
