storing a folder as mat file

i have around 30 mri scans in .tif format in a folder.i need to store these images in .mat format that folder so that its easy to access the images. please suggest the matlab codes for doing it

I'd say the following 3 commands do it:
DIR for returning the filename you want to read
IMREAD to read a file at a time
SAVE to save a MAT
