How can I change my username?

Can someone plz guide me on how I can change my username step by step ...

I didn't find any helpful article about it.

Do you mean your username for MATLAB Central (which is usually an email address) ?

Or do you mean your username as in the name you use to log in to your computer? If so are you using a local license or a network license?

My current username on the license file is "Faheem", and I want to change to "Admin"

This may not be the issue you were having, but I was getting an:

licensing error: -9,57

on linux because I entered the wrong username during the install process.

I solved this issue by deleting the /usr/local/MATLAB/R2024/licenses directory. After deleting the directory, Matlab will prompt you for the correct login information during startup.

The first thing to do is run the Deactivation executable that you will find in your MATLAB installation directory.

Then, change your username on the computer, and log in to the new user (or create a new username and log in to it.)

Then run the Activation executable that you will find in your MATLAB installation directory.

I am not sure at the moment whether this will be considered to "use up" one of the yearly transfers that are permitted.

Note: if you have a Standard (commercial) or Educational license (but not Student or Home license) then you might not strictly need to deactivate before activating with the new name.
