When using Simscape Electrical Specialized components the simulation time slows down significantly

My Simscape model is taking a very long time to complete. I noticed that the more energy sources (from the Simscape Electrical Specialized Power Systems) I add to my model, the longer the simulation time is.

Is there a way to accelerate the simulation time of my model?

For the context of this answer, let "Ts" be the sampling time of the Simscape model.

The execution time of a Simscape model containing Specialized Power Systems blocks might be improved with the following:

1. Setting a shorter sampling time "Ts". The minimum sampling time depends on the resolution needed.
2. Setting the "powergui" blocks to "Discrete mode" with a sampling time "Ts".
3. Setting the sampling time of other blocks to "Ts".
4. Re-establishing Library links (if blocks have been previously unlinked).
