How should we give simulation time as per the project , what aspects should be considered

as we are generating the power from the pv panel if i give 10 seconds simulation time it is gtting a value if i increase it it goes on increasing for constant inputs also actually how does that simulation time works and how can we give specific and desirable simulation time wherer we can get accurate output in any project . can someone help me out in this ?
