Hello, I am a student and I would like to make a servo control of a magnetically levitated object on Matlab/simulink but I have no idea how to start. If you could enlighten me so that I can start. The goal is to realize a servo in position of an object which levitates like on a train in magnetic levitation.
Thank you for your answer.

Generally, you can follow these 3-D's steps to design the controller for a Maglev system:
  1. Derive the mathematical model that describes the Maglev system, which should contain the servo control input.
  2. Design a stable reference model for the Maglev system.
  3. Determine the servo control input that can drive the actual Maglev system to behave like the reference model.
Some people who have no knowledge in the Step 2 (design stage) tend to skip Steps 2, and 3. They jump to the 'special' Step: "Dictate the AI, Reinforcement Learning, or an Optimization algorithm to search for the stabilizing servo control input".
