Hello,
I am trying to model the propeller + ship resistance and connecting it to a motor.
As shown below.
I got the resistance and propeller from the "Ship Propeller" example in Simulink.
My question is the following:
- how do i connect R1 output of the propeller to the motor?
- What does R1 represent? Will it be propeller RPM?

R1 serves as a mechanical rotational conserving port associated with the rod interface, crucial for propagating angular velocity from the power source to the propeller in marine simulations. Instead of using an angular velocity source, you can use a DC Motor in the ship propeller as given in the below figure:
Be sure to set a high enough voltage for the motor for the propeller to significantly move the Ship Resistance.
