How can i get the names of my observations in an (Observations x Variables) matrix?

I load an excel file with a matrix 10 rows x 80 variables. Every row is one sample.For example, 'D1' is the name of the first sample and 'D10' the name of the last sample.I do some plots (10 lines or 10 points) and i want to correspond name of sample to every line or point of the plot.
