Parameterized links - how to deal with them?

Very simple question: What is the best way to deal with parameterized links in Simulink? I often get messages like

    Warning: Block diagram 'dut' contains one or more parameterized library links.  To find the parameterized links use the Model Advisor.  The diagram has been saved but may not behave as you intended.

and I don't really know what to make out of it. I know what these links are but how to deal with it?

For example, I have configurable subsystems which have mask parameters. What happens if I change the block choice then to something that has different parameters?

I also have configurable subsystems which itself include configurable subsystems. I think the message above from from this scenario. How to does with it?
