In https://de.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/answers/358898-how-can-i-use-a-simulink-signal-object-as-a-parameter-in-a-masked-subsystem-in-r2017a a possible workaround for specifiying Simulink.Signal objects as mask parameter is provided. Although it can be specified that way, the next show-stopper appears "(...) returns a Simulink.Signal object that has property values that need to be evaluated. This object should be instantiated in a workspace and referenced by name in Simulink". I don't see any properties, which need to be evaluated. It it possible to have Simulink.Signal object in the scope of a masked subsystem only at all (as above solution indicates)? If so: How can this be achieved?

What do you want to do with the Simulink.Signal object in the Mask Workspace?
Thank you for providing the use case.

Integrate a compiled model of an component, which requires these Simulink.Signals, into a larger simulation model, without having name clashes. Different component providers use same variable names occasionally and thus the scope of the components data should be kept in its own mask workspace.
