Battery temperature output not working in Simulink hybrid energy system model – need help integrating real-time thermal feedback for control logic

Hi,
I'm currently working on my undergraduate research project in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, titled:
"Enhancing Battery Lifetime in HEVs Through Closed-Loop Thermal-Electric Energy Management."
I'm developing a hybrid energy storage system (HESS) in MATLAB/Simulink, combining a battery and a supercapacitor. The aim is to use real-time battery temperature feedback.
However, I'm facing an issue:
I’m unable to get real-time battery temperature output from the battery model.
What I’ve Tried:
- Using the Li-Ion Battery block from Simscape > Electrical > Specialized Power Systems.
- Tried enabling thermal port options, but model don’t show temperature output and i can't even get an output from it.
what should i do to fix this issue.
What I Need:
- How to enable or simulate battery temperature output in Simulink?
- Do I need to use a specific thermal battery model (e.g., Simscape Battery Toolbox)?
- Can I model a thermal-electric closed-loop system using standard Simulink/Simscape blocks?
- Any advice on routing this temperature data into a control decision block (e.g., Stateflow or If block)?
Any help or pointers especially on setting up thermal modeling and interfacing it with control would be greatly appreciated!

You can use Simscape Electrical or Simscape Battery for electro-thermal simulations. All battery blocks implemented in Sismcape technology (blue blocks) have optional thermal port that can be enabled in the block mask. If parameterization is an issue, Simscape Electrical and Simscape Battery provide pre-parameterized battery cells (and not only batteries): https://www.mathworks.com/help/sps/ug/pre-parameterized-components.html
If you don't have a license of Simscape Electrical/Simscape Battery you may be able to start with this example in Simscape (althrough Simscape Battery or Simscape Electrical provide more functionality): https://www.mathworks.com/help/simscape/ug/lithium-battery-cell-two-rc-branch-equivalent-circuit.html
