I have a Lenovo Y410P 64-Bit Windows 10 Laptop. I have am currently running an Algorithm on MATLAB which I believe will take at least 24 hours to complete. If I let this run to completion, will I cause my permanent damage to my computer?

Most likely not. Be certain your computer is on a flat surface, and your computer has good air flow. If you have the option, have the program write its interim results and necessary internal program parameters to a .mat file at regular intervals, so that if something does occur, you can see what the problem is and restart it from the last saved data. Having it print out status messages with the time it wrote them (use clock) to the Command Window at intervals can be reassuring. (I did this back in the 1990s when computers were slow and all simulations took a long time.)

In the past, I have run SETI and like projects for months at a time, including engaging the NVIDIA GPU in my laptop. Eventually the continued heat with restricted airflow degraded my battery until it expanded and warped, at which point I had to replace it. It probably took about 2 years for that to happen.
So, running hot continuously without extra cooling can damage your system, but if you have the manufacturer's specified clearances, then you will be fine for a day.

While the processor cares for its temperature reliably and throttles in case of overheating, the battery, the mainboard and the casing suffers from permanent heat. Of course using a computer causes a certain kind of degrading and it is expected, that the computer will fall into pieces in 10 years. But you can expect, that it will not be damaged directly.
