how to do the quantization of the wavelet coefficients ?

hi i want to do the quantization of wavelet coefficients.i have to perform this quantization procedure on the three consecutive scales of the wavelet transform & in each scale,small coefficients around zero are consider as noise & discarded . i want to do this quantization in four levels in each scale of the wavelet transform .as this wavelet coefficients are real number with large dynamic range the quantized levels are obtain by dividing this dynamic range in to four bins with each bins approximately contain 25% of wavelet coefficients population i don't know how to do this.please help me any help would be appreciated thanks
