How do I clear an object MATLAB defaults to by finding it in the history?

I am trying to run a radar-related simulation. I want the script file to read in an image from a particular directory. At an earlier time, the image resided in a directory that doesn't exist anymore. When I run the script, it tries to read from the now nonexistent directory even though I have updated the script to read from the new directory. I know MATLAB defaults to reading in objects from a history. How do I clear that history so it won't do this? (When I earlier had a similar problem with defining a parameter in a script, I cleared the parameter value first and that worked.)

This is not entirely clear to me. How's your PATH look like?

Are any of the files in the listed folders?

OLD path: C:\Users\Dean\Documents\MATLAB\data\ NEW path: C:\Users\Dean.user-PC\Documents\MATLAB\data\

When MATLAB reports the error, it reports no file exists in the OLD location.

You are incorrect. Matlab does not use history for search paths. Depending on how the script is written, it may look in folders in matlab's path. This is what José-Luis is asking. Look at the output of

path

Ideally, you would rewrite the script so that it asks you for the image folder so that images can be placed anywhere.

In any case, if you want us to figure out the root of the problem, attach your script (at least the initial part up to the point where it tries to open the image).

BTW, I will make the filename an input. However, I need to understand this problem because I've had similar problems ... Your having pointed to the PATH will, I suspect, help me solve the problem. Thanks again.
