Hi, I am a novice at matlab but i am trying to learn how to use sim powers systems. I am trying to connect a relay into one of the examples but I keep getting a red dotted line. Can anyone show me how you do this please?

You are attempting to connect Simscape blocks to Simulink blocks. This is not (always) possible. Take a look at the documentation here.

Also, just as an FYI, the relay block you are using is not an electronic/electric relay block. Check the documentation here to see what this block does.
