How to load in NC file with '/directory/' like this before variables??

When loading in an nc file with this info:

ncinfo(ncfile)

        Filename: '/directories/A2016105124000.L2_LAC_OC.x.nc'
            Name: '/'
      Dimensions: [1x5 struct]
       Variables: []
      Attributes: [1x51 struct]
          Groups: [1x5 struct]
          Format: 'netcdf4'

It shows no variables. But I know the variables are hidden in 'scan_line_attributes':

ncinfo(ncfile,'/scan_line_attributes/')

      Filename: '/directories/A2016105124000.L2_LAC_OC.x.nc'
          Name: 'scan_line_attributes'
    Dimensions: []
     Variables: [1x12 struct]
    Attributes: []
        Groups: []
        Format: 'netcdf4'

How can I load the variables in 'scan_line_attributes' using ncread?

I'm using MATLAB 2016a.

varying size, but generally less than 2mb.

Why don't you update one nc file...which is troublesome..
