Plotting on image is different than on figure?

I plotted a curve (after hold on) on an image. Then I plotted the same curve on a separate figure.
Found out that they are different (spread out on the figure). So is there a relation between the pixel and the X-Y dimension? And how can I edit this dimension to fit on the same size of the pixel?
