Hi,
I am running Matlab 7.6.0.324 (Release 2008a) under Fedora core 10 and am experiencing trouble with my Swiss (FR) keyboard. Basically, I am not able to produce the square and curly brackets signs ([],{}) which is done by using AltGr + some key.
I have read this bug report http://www.mathworks.com/support/bugreports/100994, and noted that this problem seems to be known, but should have been fixed in release 7.5. I tried, however to run the following command in my terminal:
setxkbmap ch fr_nodeadkeys
in order to try and remove the deadkeys. This was, unfortunately, unsuccessful. I then tried to run Matlab by turning off the Java Virtual Machine (matlab -nojvm), but this freezes Matlab before it even started. In the end, I tried to run Matlab without the desktop (matlab -nodesktop) and this solves my problem except for the Matlab editor.
The thing is, I'd like to use the Matlab's editor (and if possible, the Matlab desktop), as it is more confortable to me. Is there any workarounds that you may know?
Cheers, Karim
