stairs function

Hello,

I want quantize a sine signal to 10 and 4 levels of quantization. I want to use 'stairs', but I find it quite confusing to define it correctly.

this is the code so far:

Fm = 1000;           
t = 0:1/10e4:10/Fm;
f=sin(2*pi*Fm.*t);
stairs(t,f);
