Dear All, I would like to type of winding inbuilt in Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine Simulink library. I believe it must be star type however I am not sure. I do wish to work with delta connected PMSM, so what would be the changes required? Kindly suggest me or guide me through this. Thank You in advance.

Hi,
The stator windings of a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine is connected as star type to an internal neutral point. Please refer this documentation page for more information.
For modeling a delta connected PMSM, do a delta to star transformation on the delta winding to obtain the equivalent star connected parameters like Armature inductance and Stator phase resistance. Please refer this for more information on star-delta transformation.

Hello Mr Podder,
I need some further explanation on the term equivalent that you are reffering to.
As long as we apply these transformation equations on Rs, Ls of the Motor and change from Delta to Star, the Motor has completely different characteristics in efficiency, max torque, max speed and temperature stability.
So, in order to simulate the Delta BLDC/PMSM motor that we have, we need to keep all the characteristics of the motor the same and not change them.
Is a solution of one transformation matrix on the characteristics of the motor before the dynamics solved and one transformation matrix of the results of the motor at the end like below:
Delta characteristics--> Star Characteristics --> Dynamics Solved --> Star results --> Delta results
Thanks in advance,
Dimitrios Vogiatzis, MSc
