Error printing figures due to unspecified printer

Why do I get this error: "Error using alternatePrintPath (line xx) Invalid printer '' specified." I can print the figure by clicking on the printer symbol in the figure just fine. And subsequent trials/runs print fine. But this stops the process every time on the first run of the program. Very frustrating!
