How to measure distance of an object using HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor using raspberry pi 3 interfaced with MATLAB?

I want to calculate the distance of my whiteboard marker to detect its position on the whiteboard. I have interfaced MATLAB with raspberry pi 3 to display all my results on MATLAB. I have connected HC-SCR04 ultrasonic sensor with raspberry pi and want to run this sensor through MATLAB. Is it possible to measure distance this way and display results on MATLAB?
