Making a surface on a grid

I have a matrix of 1000x1000 and another with 6x2 with the desired data points, I want to make a grid of 1000x1000 and plot the 6 data points on that. How can I do this and is it possible to connect those points to form a surface? Thank you!

griddata() and then surf()
