How to place and download in a loop?

Hello everyone,

I have a number of boxes that I need to store them in a storage area (1X10), number 1 Its boxes inside cells and zeros is empty.

NumberOfBoxes=10
StorageArea=[1,1,1,0,0,0,0,0,0,0]  (the boxes shown here have remained from yesterday)

Placing boxes into storage area, downloading a number of boxes and creating a vector that updates information about the quantity of boxes each time.

StorageArea=[1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1]
NumberOfBoxes=3

Create information from a number of boxes in StorageArea to Vector:
Vector=[10]

After vector information,The area will be empty :
StorageArea=[0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0]
Again boxes are placed here each time.
StorageArea=[1,1,1,0,0,0,0,0,0,0]
Vector=[10,3]

I have some mistakes in the code, My code:

Can you explain what mistakes/errors you get? It will make it easier to help you.

On a first glance:

• boxes1new is not defined in the code shown.
• NumberOfBoxes=NumberOfBoxes-count substracts count, however you might want to substract 1 instead
• your inner loop will fill your entire StorageArea, i think you only need 1 loop

On a second thought maybe you dont even need a loop.

NumberOfBoxes=3;
StorageArea=[1,1,1,0,0,0,0,0,0,0];
empty=find(StorageArea==0);
if numel(empty)>=NumberOfBoxes
    StorageArea(empty(1:NumberOfBoxes))=1;
    Vector=numel(StorageArea(StorageArea==1));  %storing amount of boxes in Vector
else
    %what to do if you have more boxes than space?
end

• Yes you're right, I was wrong. Instead it boxes1new should be Vector.
• Ok, succeed.
• I would be happy if you could show how to make this one loop.

I have a problem here with Vector is only absorbing for every time, need only when a row is filled with boxes or less quantity of final boxes.

If the area is full of boxes, the forklift will take them out to a post and thus an area will be empty.

while NumberOfBoxes > 0
    idx=find(StorageArea==0);
    if isempty(idx)
         Vector=[Vector,numel(StorageArea(StorageArea==1))];
         StorageArea(:)=0;
    else
        StorageArea(idx(1))=1;
        NumberOfBoxes=NumberOfBoxes-1;
    end

end
 Vector=[Vector, numel(StorageArea(StorageArea==1))];
