Hi,
I understand that you would like to know the difference between mdlInitializeConditions and mdlStart and I assume that you know why these functions are used.
In terms of how and when these should be used, there would be a difference. Let's say your S-function is part of an enabled subsystem and needs to be reinitialized whenever the subsystem is enabled. Then use mdlInitializeConditions instead of mdlStart.
For more information, please follow the below links:
mdlInitializeConditions : Initialize the state vectors of this C MEX S-function - MATLAB mdlInitializeConditions - MathWorks India
Hope this helps!
Thanks,
Dhaniklal
