Area Calculation Depends on the Shape

Hello,

I would like to ask for the shape recognition to calculate regarding the shap of the object in Matlab.

I am doing automatic area calculation on images for the area values but sometimes shapes are changed and it causes problem on the formula. I would like to define area calculation formulas and would like to apply them these formulas regarding the automatic shape detection. So, it would give the area result with related formula.

Is there any suggestion on this subject?

My demo image is below and I would like to applicate area formulas at these objects regarding their shapes. Of course there would be the area formulas for circle, triangle and square. I would like to define these formulas in my code and after labelling each one with the shape the related formula would be applicated on the related shaped object.
