Can J1939 transmit blocks inherit the trigger rate from the .dbc database?

I'm using J1939 transmit blocks with a .dbc database, a .dbc file also specifies the cycle time of messages. However, the J1939 transmit block still has a trigger port to queue the message. Does this block have an option to inherit the cycle time from the .dbc database? That is the entire point of using a database. Or do I have to manually respecify the trigger rate with periodic triggers?
