MATLAB not reading a specific input from excel file

Hi,

I am reading some data from the excel file. The first column specified in the excel file is date-time format as follows

01/01/2012 00:00

01/01/2012 00:15

When I read the data using xlsread command, I got the following data in MATLAB

'01/01/2012'

'01/01/2012 00:15:00'

Why MATLAB is not reading the time instant 00:00. I have checked it over few days, and everytime, when MATLAB encounters 00:00, it does not report/show in its output. Any possible way to solve this thing?
