Hi,
at the end of the installation of the Support Package "Communications Toolbox Support Package for Analog Devices ADALM-Pluto Radio" I get an "Hardware Setup Error" that the Adalm-Pluto cannot be found. A view to WIndows System shows the Adalm Pluto.
I tried to unistall an install several times, but it dindn't help.
MATLAB Version: 9.3.0.713579 (R2017b)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 Home Version 10.0 (Build 17134)

Hi! I know this 6 years after the original post, but if it helps anyone, I'll just leave a comment here. I'm really new to MATLAB and ADALM-PLUTO, so I'm not sure if this would work for everyone.
So I've been having the same problem for a while, with the latest version of MATLAB(R2024a), and Windows 11. I have installed all nessassry packages that must be installed before installing the Communications toolbox for ADALM PLUTO.
I have two ports in my computer and I tried both but I still got the same Hardware setup error. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling the "Communications Toolbox Support Package for Analog Devices ADALM-Pluto Radio" multiple times also no change.
So I checked my device manager and found out that it may be some sort of driver issue? The IIO and the RNDIS has warning signs on them, and when I check their properties it says no drivers found.
When I looked it up, I found this info on the Analog devices wiki site: https://wiki.analog.com/university/tools/pluto/drivers/windows
I installed the diver package they mention and it solved the problem for me.
Hopefully this helps :)

I'm assuming you have Commnications Toolbox installed...
If so, here are a couple of things to try:
  • Make sure that no other software applicaiton is talking to the Pluto (if you were using IIO Oscilloscope, make sure it's closed before launching MATLAB)
  • On some computers, the single USB cable connection for power and signal is not sufficient for powering the Pluto, so you get strange results. You can try running a second USB cable to the Pluto power input to see if that "wakes up" the device.

I had a similar problem on Mac OS X and the culprit was the "HoRNDIS" driver, an Ethernet driver so that the unit is accessible via IP.
Try deinstalling the Ethernet NDIS driver for it.
