Problem with installation R2018b (Linux)

Hello there, i am having a really issue with getting Matlab to work on my Linux distribution Ubuntu 18.10. I have now uninstalled and reinstalled 3 times without any success and so i've come here to see if anyone can help me resolve my issue. It installs fine it allows me to activate it however once i start it up i just get reams of red text just scrolling down with errors. Really stumped not sure what to do i'm more than happy to provide you guys with any further information that you request.
