SVN: New Files do not show up

I work on a project with multiple users that share a common SVN repository which is managed by a SVN Server.

When a user adds a new file to the repository it does not show up within the other users' file tree with an option to check them out from the repo.

Is there any other way to force an update from the repo within the Matlab SVN environment?
