How to build a predictiv system

Hi ;
i'm using simuling to predict a signal with measurment horizon of 10 sec
my signal is a speed by time signal, with a duration of 800 sec
i want to build a system that can predict the the next 10 sec by measuring the past 10 sec
i've heard about MPC and Kalman filter , but i've never used those :/
