@Walter Roberson, thanks for the question. If for instance any of the conditions are met, maybe app.HSV = 3, and app.tcof = 30000, the error will indicate on that particular line of code. If its another line meet the condition, the error didplay on the particular line that meet the condition and so on. I have tried for loop and while statements I dont know why it has refused to work.

are all vectors, not scalars. Short circuit operators only operate on scalar quantities is what is triggering the error message.

Though it doesnt show that error message again, even while this line of code:

meet the conditions, based on the variable: app.HSV, app.tcof, app.invf output, it does not display the result but diplaying the last line which is: " Result out of Range".

Changing && to & and || to | in an if statement is not enough.

When you have an if or while statement and you have a non-scalar result being tested, then the condition is only considered true if all of the values being tested are non-zero. If even a single value being tested is 0, then the if or while is considered to fail.

When you have a series of vector conditions like

if A<5
    disp('<five')
elseif A>10
    disp('>ten')
else
    disp('neither')
end

then if A = [4 11] then A<5 becomes [4<5, 11<5] which becomes [true false], and since at least one of the values is 0 (false), that condition is considered false. Then you proceed to the A>10 and you test [4>10, 11>10] which is [false, true], and since at least one of the values is 0 (false), that condition is considered false, so you get to the 'neither' case. That happens even though individually all of the elements are < 5 or > 10: the problem is that in any one test, not all of the conditions hold.

If you are going to be working with compound tests like that, you need to take one of two approaches:

1. Loop over individual elements, so that you never encounter a case where one element being tested comes true but another element being tested produces false since you are only testing one at a time; or
2. Learn how to use logical indexing and do conditional work instead of if/elseif tests.

Thanks, when I test the codes based on DB suggestion in command window, it is working and returning the right result to the placeholder. But wouldn't display on appdesgner "numeric edit field" that suppose to hold the result based on the conditions. It doesnt indicate any syntax error, Just bypassing all the test fields to display the last line which is: " Result out of Range".

Time to use the debugger. Put a breakpoint in just after the numeric field is retrieved, examine it, and then start single-stepping until you find the problem.
