Is it possible to freehand mask a DICOM image? I have located a demo from another thread from Image Analyst, however it uses a Matlab demo image. I was wondering if it were possible to locate and use a DICOM image in this demo code for freehand masking? Thanks.

Sorry I should have been more specific.
I'm using a demo with the following code.
% Read in a standard MATLAB gray scale demo image.
folder = fileparts(which('cameraman.tif')); % Determine where demo folder is.
baseFileName = 'cameraman.tif';
% Get the full filename, with path prepended.
fullFileName = fullfile(folder, baseFileName);
% Check if file exists.
if ~exist(fullFileName, 'file')
% File doesn't exist -- didn't find it there. Check the search path for it.
fullFileName = baseFileName; % No path this time.
if ~exist(fullFileName, 'file')
% Still didn't find it. Alert user.
errorMessage = sprintf('Error: %s does not exist in the search path folders.', fullFileName);
uiwait(warndlg(errorMessage));
return;
end
end
grayImage = imread(fullFileName);
imshow(grayImage, []);
axis on;
title('Original Grayscale Image', 'FontSize', fontSize);
set(gcf, 'Position', get(0,'Screensize
')); % Maximize figure.
However, I want the image to be one of my own which is a DICOM image. However, it says the file extension is not recognised when I use it. Is there anyway I can swap in my own DICOM image? Thanks
