Dear Mr Robinson, dear community,
since I few days my Laptop, which is running on windows 10, produces a bluescreen while operating matlab aswell. Since your comment says that RAM issues are the most common reason for the occurrence of this error, my question is: Do you have any tip or suggestions to fix this issue? Has it something to do with the sice of the code? Also during running matlab the venitalor of the cooling unit of my laptop is getting noisy (probably a sign of an overheating processor?). I would really appreciate a fix for this, since I really need matlab to work for an urgent project and bluescreens all the time are not helpful…
Thank you for your help and best regards
Lukas

RAM hardware problems have a few cases that are common:
  • chip cards not seated properly
  • overheating leads to card flexing and something losing contact
  • faulty chip stuck on
  • faulty chip stuck off
  • marginal chip fails as it gets warmer (this can be difficult to locate)
  • chip board trace is cracked and separates as the board heats
If the RAM can be removed and put back in, that may be worth doing.
Any competent RAM test can detect stuck chips.
For difficulties related to heating, a thorough RAM test may be needed.
System logs related to the BSOD might happen to give detail about a chip problem, but sometimes it is just a bad pointer information that does not give enough physical information
The noisy ventilation is not a good sign. Perhaps it is clogged with dust (or pet hair). Perhaps it is failing mechanically. Perhaps you have it too close to something hot. Perhaps you are not giving it enough clearance. Perhaps it is hot weather where you are.
If you can check the fan for dust and hair, do so. Do you happen to have any "canned air"? I do not mean just plain pressurized air: plain air tends to be too moist and to have contaminants. "Canned air" is a spray can of chemicals designed to blow away dust.
I would try to blow dust / hair first, then run an easy RAM test. If it doesn't find anything, a "harder" RAM test is probably good. But a harder RAM test can take a long time.
