Disable Mac OS keyboard user interface sound when using compiled standalone application

Hello,

I have compiled my own standalone application using MATLAB compiler, and it is working, other than that each time I press a key, I get an error sound (like I am typing into the wrong place). The sound goes away if I have a text editor or something open in the background that takes some type of text entry (so I am effectively typing into that), but is there a way to stop key entry error sounds in my application?
