Not enough input arguments error when using exp

Hi, I am very new to matlab and I and getting the 'not enough input arguments when typing this.
EDU>> syms x
EDU>> f = 5*exp^(2*x - sin(x^2))
Any help is appreciated.

That's because you are not passing any arguments to the exp() function. You probably meant:
f = 5*exp(2*x - sin(x^2));
Or if you meant the number e:
f = 5*exp(1)^(2*x - sin(x^2));
