Linear Analysis Points in the linearization of a System in Simulink

Hi,

I am using Simulink to design control system for a 2x2 MIMO system. The first step for doing so is the Linearization. However I am seeing that there are two main types of Linear Analysis Points: the open loop and the input perturbation. I want to know which one of them are applicable for doing linearization at a certain simulaion instant (for eample 5 sec)? I have tested both of them but they give different results, so I am unsure which one to use. Any guidance especially about the difference between the Linear Analysis Points will be highlly appreciated as the it is not very clear from the documentation.
