how i generate a type 2 fuzzy membership function?

i have to generate Membership Function of type-2 fuzzy logic which handle uncertainty.

there is a toolbox but how to generate without using the toolbox??

and also not using IT2FLS because my matlab does not recognize the it. and show error

Error in ==> Untitled at 12

[y, yl, yr]=IT2FLS(x,X,Y)

if there is another way plz tell me.
