3D surface(shape) smoothing or interpolation

Hello Friends, I am generating 3D surface of human skull using Marching Cube algorithm from stack of binary CT-scan images. This algorithm gives me steps-like(spiky) outer surface. However I am interested in smooth outer surface of the skull.
I searched for 3D interpolation functions, but all of them are doing intensity based smoothing. I need to smooth the shape of the surface. Is there any method or function available which can do this?
