zeros() command not producing a matrix

For some reason, my matlab has completely stopped allowing me to make lists/arrays/vectors. I have no idea what could have caused this, because all I did was type table(mylist1) and the entire thing broke and is now refusing to work. I tried using clear zeros as another user recommended, I've used the [1,2,3] and [1 2 3] format, and nothing seems to work. any help would be appreciated!

What effect does restarting Matlab or your computer have? This looks like an internal file is damaged.

I thought the same, but even restarting my computer hasnt helped. do you think I might need a reinstall?

A full reinstall did the trick, is that something that just happens sometimes?

I would suggest waiting a few hours to see if someone else has a helpful response. Unless you don't mind setting up Matlab again.
I don't recognize these specific problems.

To answer your question: it generally doesn't just happen. It can happen that memory gets corrupted, but restarting solves that. More persistent issues tend to be caused by file damage, which doesn't just happen. Diagnosing this is not my area of expertise.
