How to merge Polyspace Access projects?

Polyspace Bug Finder Server results are beeing uploaded to a new folder in Polyspace Bug Finder Access. As we want to keep the historical data we want to merge the projects residing in the old folder with the ones in the new folder. Could you assist us in how this is done?
Here is an example of our folder structure in Polyspace access:
public
- old_folder
- project_a
- project_b
- new_folder
- project_a
- project_b
I have tried to use the move operator in the UI, but it complains that a project with that name already exist.

Hi,
The Polyspace Access UI does not allow two projects with the same name in the same folder. But I don't think you want to see the two projects side by side. You could have renamed the older projects by adding _old or something similar and then moved the projects to the new folder.
When you ask about merging older projects with the newer ones, you are probably trying to import review information (Status, Severity and so on) from the older projects to the newer ones. In that case, you can download the older project results programmatically, import the review information from the downloaded older projects to the newer project results, and then upload the newer projects. See information on this workflow in Merge Review Information Between Polyspace Access Projects.

It is correct that we do not want to see the old and new projects side by side, but rather merged together into one.
We are actually not creating review information in Polyspace Access. The data I would like to have imported into the new projects are the Polyspace Bug Finder results, making it is possible to look into these older results and watch the trend curve.
Is this possible to do? Or should I rather upload the results uploaded to the new folder to the old folder, and then rename the old folder with the new name?

Thanks a lot for clarifying that you want to see trends! Starting R2020b, Polyspace Access supports exactly what you want, in a slightly different way. Instead of uploading project_a and project_b to a new folder like new_folder and then merging, you can simply upload project_a and project_b to the existing folder (like old_folder). When uploading, make sure to keep the project names the same (which you already have done).
In the Polyspace Access interface, you will only see the latest run of project_a and project_b. But all previous runs are stored and can be easily retrieved. What's more, you can compare any two runs:
  • The trend curve on the Dashboard directly shows you the evolution of the results.
  • On the top left, you see drop-downs where you can pick two results to compare. You can choose the latest run in the Current field and a previous run in the Baseline field. The Dashboard will then directly show you how many results changed between the current and previous run. You can even drill down into which results changed (which ones were fixed in the previous run, which ones are new in the current run, etc.)
If you have a Polyspace Access version prior to R2020b, what you are asking for might still be possible. Please contact MathWorks Technical Support: https://www.mathworks.com/support/contact_us.html

Thank you for the information, although now I'm already in a situation where I have the folder structure shown in my original post. Thus, the problem I'm facing is how to merge the projects which resides in different folders.

Please contact MathWorks Technical Support. They can help you migrate the older projects so that they appear as predecessors of the newer ones and allow comparison.

I ended up deleting the new folder and the projects therein and renaming the old folder to the new name, then new uploads were going into the original projects.
Thank you for the guidence Anirban.
