Why is the performance on my multicore AMD “Bulldozer” CPU worse compared to less powerful CPUs?

I expect my operations benefit from my multicore AMD “Bulldozer” machine.

Instead I observe that certain matrix operations seem not to scale well and the execution of my code is not faster compared to less powerful machines.

MATLAB is not yet able to benefit from the AMD “Bulldozer” CPUs. MathWorks Development is actively working on multiple technical options to increase the performance.
