Why do I receive Error -4005 when activating my student version of MATLAB?

A 4005 error will occur during the activation process if the Name or Company field contains a non-alpha-numeric character (such as '@', '&', '*', etc).
As a workaround, remove any non-alpha-numeric characters and try again.
