It seems to be a Silicon Graphics integer raster file, but if you’re into Bethesda Softworks games, it could be one of theirs. FileInfo seems to have the most comprehensive information on .int files, but there are other sources.
MATLAB likely doesn’t have specific functions to read and interpret it. (I can’t find them in my searches, at least.) If it is an integer raster file, I would experiment with the fread function to read it, save it as a matrix, then use the surf, image, or other such functions to display it.
I am completely unfamiliar with .ini files, so I’m simply outlining what I would do to explore it.

For any other people who may come along with the same question, how did you ultimately get it working? Did you find an existing reader for it somewhere (give the link), or did you write your own (attach your code)?

@Joanna — My pleasure!
@Image Analyst — I was hoping you’d see this, since it seems to be a graphics topic.
