shape feature extraction

i have segmented my x-ray image.now i have to extract shape features.can you please tell me one of the shape feature extraction technique which i can use. since i am in the early stages of learning please provide me with a simple shape feature extraction technique to start with.Thanks in advance

Well this forum is for MATLAB programming, not general image processing. So you'll have to figure out your algorithm some other way, such as http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scale-invariant_feature_transform or http://iris.usc.edu/Vision-Notes/bibliography/contents.html or the sci.image.processing newsgroup and then come back here with MATLAB specific questions. Be sure to check the File Exchange for any code someone may have uploaded with the algorithm you're interested in.
