Concave Image Segmentation

Hi every one,

    I am doing my MAT-WORK on Concave brain tumor image segmentation in MRI.I need the suggestion for process my project work.My question is Which algorithm is (best)suitable for segmentation except watershed algorithm..

Please suggest me.....
